Preview Concert: March 22

March 22nd: Cold Spring NY

Greetings music lovers, family and friends,

I’d like to share very some good news with you. I was recently awarded an individual artist decentralization grant from Arts Mid Hudson, to write and perform new music.  I am honored and excited to be able to bring you the world premiere of brand new music in a free outdoor concert in Newburgh NY on June 28th. The new piece is titled “Convergence: Series A” and will performed by The X Ensemble, a new 8 piece contemporary chamber ensemble. {more info about the piece?}. The performers are Fung Chern Hwei (violin), Daniel Frankhuizen (cello), Steven Frieder (clarinet, Saxophones), Brad Hubbard (flute, bass clarinet, baritone saxophone), Todd Isler (drums, percussion), Angel Michael Lau (percussion) and myself (Neil Alexander; piano, synthesizer and electronics).

You are invited to attend a very special House Concert to preview this new music on  the afternoon of Sunday March 22nd in Cold Spring NY, at a beautiful private location overlooking the Hudson river. Members of the X Ensemble (Chern Hwei, Daniel, Steven, Brad, Angel & Myself)  will perform a selection of my original chamber works, including a preview of “Convergence”. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear engaging works of original acoustic music in an intimate and relaxed setting. Refreshments will be provided. Relax with a glass of wine while listening to a variety of chamber music styles along with brand new music still “under construction”. After the performance you will be able to meet the artists in a very informal and friendly atmosphere. We are requesting a suggested donation of $20, all of which goes to the performers and helps to cover expenses. Advance Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets:

You can also pay at the door. Seating is limited to 35 people so I’d encourage you to get your tickets in advance. For those of you living out of area or unable to attend we are planning a Live Stream of the House Concert performance. Links will be posted when available. A second preview concert is planned for May 30th at the Holland Tunnel Gallery.
